Slider shows up but does not work

Hello I have installed the spotify playback speed accessory using chrome on a MacBookPro with updated OS. The speed adjustment switch shows up in the bottom right hand corner of the spotify screen, but does not change the playback speed when adjusted. I am using spotify premium.
