Activity summary by email

I'd like a weekly email (for reference - the ones sent out from the stack exchange network) that summarizes activity.

This would help me get an overview of activity I was not part of.

Ideally, I could subscribe to this from my profile, and choose a frequency, like daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly.

The email would list new topics, and/or topics that are active, with possibly a snippet from the first/last post on a topic.
