The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury #25
Description
I read this story in, IIRC, 8th grade. It was assigned by a teacher, and was published in our "red book", a collection of short stories. I remember them all being sci-fi, but that might be wishful thinking.
In any case, the story has always stuck with me. Maybe my favorite all-time sci-fi story.
