Serious error trying to load mush on mac using wine

I'm trying to install the Aardwolf MUSHclient on a Mac (M1) using wine - MUSHClient will load but then a program error message pops up saying "The program mushclient.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience."

I've tried installing the program in different locations and it keeps happening with no success. I have been able to successfully download Mushclient and use it with DIscworld so not sure what is happening here (put in separate location). The detailed error message started with: Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x0261e000 in wow64 32-bit code (0x7bc6ec2d).

Is there an easy way to install plugins in the current mushclient that is working instead? I tried to move the plugins folder to that mushclient and add them there but I got errors with that too.

I am more used to Mudlet so a relative newbie here.

How are you installing Wine?
I ask because I also have an M1 mac, and I don't experience this.
