We periodically need to provide users, most often an internal administrator, with a copy of emails that have been given to us. The only way to do that with messages put in ePADD is by exporting them and opening them as email. That's more work than we or our users want to do. Being able to export a set of email messages to pdf would be an ideal solution for us as it would be easy to send and easy for our users to access.

Having an output format that doesn't require an email program for displaying would indeed be helpful. We received a few requests for adding the ea-pdf format which is used for archiving emails using PDF to the list of export formats. This format contains message content as well as email metadata in a PDF document. It is mainly intended for long-term preservation but can also be used for sharing with users who just want to view the content in an easy way.
We are considering adding that format to the export options.
