Error when saving collection metadata in the Processing Module

Describe the bug
When trying to save collection metadata in the Processing Module, I encountered an error. It did ultimately save the information.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to Processing Module
2. Click on the collection
3. Click on "edit metadata"
4. Added metadata to "Collection metadata" fields
5. Click "save" button at bottom of screen
6. Expected to have information save and return to "collection information" screen - but instead received error - then immediately received successful notification. This was after trying to save a few times and nothing happening.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• OS: iOS
• Browser Chrome
• ePADD Version 11.0.2
• Java Version 22.0.1

This happened to us as well (today). We have not yet gotten it to complete the save. The error we received was:

"There was an error updating collection metadata. Please try again, and if the error persists, report it to epadd_project@stanford.edu. Details: Could not update collection metadata: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot read field "date" because "ed" is null"

Could you please try ePADD version 11.1.0, which has been released today?

We installed 11.1.0 and tried again. This time we didn't receive an error message, but also, the save did not complete. Clicking save didn't seem to do anything at all (like Sally mentions above). That had happened with the previous version too, it went back and forth between not doing anything and giving the error. We've tried multiple times and waited up to 30min after clicking "save" to see if anything happens.

Could you please send the files epadd.log and epadd.log.warnings from the epadd-settings folder?

We had kept working after we reported the issue, so yesterday started a new session just to replicate the problem. I've attached the requested files together as a zip because GitHub wasn't accepting them as txt.

Thanks, that version is working for us! The collection metadata is now saving. It does take 30-60 mins (with no on-screen indication anything is happening), so if anyone else thinks they're having this issue, make sure you wait long enough.
