Dragging tasks when list is already sorted by X

When I forget that I have sorted a task list by priority/date/etc, and I try to drag a task to a different location. The list appears to randomize for a second, then it lets me drag that task somewhere. When I release the task, it completely ignores what I did.

It makes sense that I can't drag/drop when I have put an automatic sort on the list, but the randomization is jarring. Perhaps when a sort rule is applied the drag/drop is disabled?

Thanks for the great app, i'm amazed at the progress you have made in the past few months. Hoping your app kills Todoist and their newly introduced Legacy account for me.

Hi @coffee-mage , thanks for reporting this. I agree this is not very intuitive. What this does is that it reset the tasks into default order when you drag in a sorted list, so that you can order them without having to reset the order yourself. However, I can see that this is more confusing than it's useful.

I'm wondering if there is a better way to handle this before removing this confusing feature. Happy to hear people's feedback.

Ahh, i see what you are saying. I think what confused me is this:

• Start drag
• It goes back to default order (that I thought was randomized)
• I sort it the way I wanted
• Release the cursor, and it resorts away from default back to the order I picked to the sorted version.

It might be slightly less confusing if you kept the default (unsorted) after the drag. But I think it could be unfriendly to people who aren't diehards and willing to research what is happening.
