How to Build Without Delegate Libraries?

Hi. I'm interested in WASM. In build/wasm-x86/settings.sh, When I use this, it works. If I don't miss anything it's the list in here. Only WebP is yes, others are no; except HEIC. It's not specified. When I specify HEIC, if it's not yes, the build fails. I tried some other stuff too and I've reached my GitHub Actions limit and I couldn't make it run on my Linux somehow, so I can't test it when WebP is no too.

I'm only interested in WebP with minimum wasm file size at this point. Thanks for the help.

I am not sure if this library is the best library if you just want to read webp files. You can tweak which dependencies are build inside the build/wasm-x86/build.dependencies.sh file. When I test thing locally I use the wasm-x86/devcontainer.json devcontainer that will run the build locally. But when you remove dependencies you also need to tweak the CMakeLists.txt file to make sure the project still builds.

Hi. I decided to give it a shot. I’ve tried removing the HEIF parts in CMake and even deleting the HEIC/HEIF files after the clone/copy of ImageMagick step but I haven’t been able to make it work. I am running out of ideas. Could you give me some guidance on how to safely exclude HEIF/HEIC without breaking the build?

For this to work you would need to make two changes:

• First remove all libraries that you don't want from this script: https://github.com/ImageMagick/Dependencies/blob/main/.github/build/wasm-x86/build.sh
• Then patch CMAKE to remove the same dependencies in this project here: src/Magick.Native/CMakeLists.txt

Then you will need to build both projects:

You should follow the same steps as in the scripts but you will need to tweak them because you won't publish a release of the dependencies. To be fair this is not simple to do and requires you to have some knowledge about bash scripts and how this project works.

I forked the Dependencies repo privately and made a release. I changed the call to here to be inline and did the same for this one. It still failed. I might have removed something essential from CMakeLists.txt or build.sh, I’m not sure. I’m giving up. I’m okay with the way I’m doing it now. It gives me a decent sized build. Thanks for the help.

I transform animated WebP files. I only found FFmpeg that does that. From my experience, it's larger, slower and harder to use. I think CMakeLists.txt is out of my league. Thanks for the help.
