Test location lon/lats to see if they're in the ocean

One way to test for bad points is to see if they're not where expected. Considering that 71% of the earth's surface is covered by water, this often means bad points are "in the water".

Create a test that does a fast point-in-polygon reverse geocode that checks points to alert the user if a position is in the ocean.

Use a "boundary service" or "point in polygon" tool like Wherewolf and water data like the Who's on First Oceans and Marine Areas.
