Rutorrent - Failed to add torrent - .torrent files > 1.5MB won't upload

If I try to upload a .torrent file larger than 1.5MB thru the web interface, it gives the error "Failed to add torrent". The workaround is to upload .torrent files to the rtorrent "watch" folder in order for them to load properly.

Can this be changed in the .rtorrent.rc file or is it a file size limitation through the webserver?

Any ideas how this can be resolved?

It's not the limitation on rtorrent nor rutorrent. It's php. Just modify the upload limit settings on php.ini(usually local in /etc/php/7.2/apache2/php.ini).

upload_max_filesize = 64M
max_file_uploads = 200
post_max_size = 128M
