G1000NXi ETE Issue

The G1000 NXi from Working Title/MSFS uses the simvar GPS_ETE to report time to the next waypoint. According to the MSFS docs, GPS_ETE should be time to destination, while GPS_WP_ETE should be time to next waypoint. I have reported this issue to Working Title.

I'm open to any suggestions for temporary workaround on this. I've come up blank so far.

It looks like the WT avionics sets the simvar "(L:WT1000_LNav_Destination_Dis)", which I can use to derive the ete I need.
