Doesn't compile for node version above 10

This doesn't compile for node versions over 10. I've tried v10 (works) v12 (doesn't work) and v14 (doesn't work).

I've had problems as well, I'll try downgrading to v10.

I got it to work on node version v16.13.0 by installing the node-gyp npm package which is not bundled with node. Apparently this supports VS versions other than VS2017.

For windows you I ran the following in cmd:

npm install --global node-gyp@latest
for /f "delims=" %P in ('npm prefix -g') do npm config set node_gyp "%P\node_modules\node-gyp\bin\node-gyp.js"

If it doesn't work you can uninstall the global package and undo the config through:

npm uninstall --global node-gyp
npm config delete node_gyp
