[question] what about a new login-fire-splash-screen element?

I want to add a new element to the collection.

<firebase-app ... ></firebase-app>

This element will display the login-fire in fullscreen and will hide the app shell until a user is signed in.

NOTE: it does not require parameters because the settings can be read from the firebase-app element (I guess/hope).

What do you think about it❓

I dont think it should be handled by login-fire
I'm already doing it by using paper-dialog with some css (can share a snippet if you want)

I have misunderstood your question (though you just want to show login-fire in fullscreen)

But you just have to encapsulate your app-shell in a div with a hidden property bound to the signedIn property (from login-fire)

I'm currently building my third application using login-fire for authentication and I copy, over and over, the same pattern to have a login page that hides the app while no user is signed in and displays a spinner during the wait for the server's response.

Yes it's simple to do but I'm lazy. The element could also manage login-fire orientation according to the device screen and could also display your logo at the right place and in the right size by simply adding an iron-image.

Ok I better understand why you want a new element and it can be really interesting !

Maybe there are other options :

• a simple parameter in the login-fire that force the view of login-fire until user is connected
• a external element (similar of what you described) with login-fire as dependency to not surcharge login-fire

I think the second proposal is easier to do and, as you mentioned, will avoid over charge the existing login-fire element.
