Merge multiple git accounts belonging to same contributor

Different git accounts are showing as different contributors.
Example: http://code-praise.herokuapp.com/appraisal/SOA-Team-5/api-foodegrient
However, on Github, they are shown as only three distinct contributors: https://github.com/SOA-Team-5/api-foodegrient

WHY: not sure!

Should we identify uinque contributors using a different method?
