Bug: Revert selection crash #49

Description

I'm having an incredibly difficult time reproducing this bug as it popped up while demonstrating the surroundWith features and I didn't really take note of what keys I pressed.

I know it had something to do with surroundWith and revert selection, and I'm pretty sure that it crashed after hitting the SR sequence to revert the selection. I could be totally incorrect, since it is more likely that it would crash on the O key instead, since that might work on a NULL pointer parent.

There's also the possibility that I used the N key to detach a node, but again, it happened pretty fast and I have no idea how to reproduce it. I just know that some combination of surround, revert, and maybe detach completely crashed the app. And I know that I've had no luck trying to figure out what I did.

I think the best bet is to try and look into these functions themselves for any potentially dangerous operations, and try and figure out what went wrong.

Update:
The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking its an issue with the revert selection alone. Although I'm remembering surround with cut being involved, I'm thinking the issue has to be with having a bad selection list, like if something was deleted but remained in the backup list for revert.
