How to set the current time in the timeline?

I'm a little confused on how to set/increment the current time as the timer plays. It seems to just always sit statically in the middle and i'm not sure how to move it?

I'm expecting basically giving it a start DateTime and an end DateTime and then setting the currentTime as a DateTime and it would just move as that time was updated?
