biagent geo_search "breast cancer" error

when i run biagent geo_search "breast cancer" command, i get this error
def get_geo(geo_id, return_gse=False) -> GSM | tuple[GSM, GSE]:
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for |: 'type' and 'types.GenericAlias'

how to fix this?

Hi Di,

this error was caused by the python version (< 3.10). The syntax is only supported in 3.10 or later. You can either upgrade your python version to 3.10 or just simply update the source code from def get_geo(geo_id, return_gse=False) -> GSM | tuple[GSM, GSE]: to def get_geo(geo_id, return_gse=False): to fix that.

think you, I have checked my python version and it is version 3.9. I tried to change the source code but got more errors. I also found that the installation was only successful with python 3.9
