Legibility of notebook names

Right now, with the custom icons, the legibility of the icon is not optimal. It is maybe necessary to separate the name from the icon, or redesign them to increase legibility.

I like them. It's your own library so you have a knowlegde what is there and which notebook contains which informations. So you don't really have to read the name every time you want to open a notebook

I was thinking of doing something more like evernote, where the name is displayed horizontally instead of vertically. I think it is really not optimal having to turn your neck to read...

Even when you know your library, having a more legible way of looking at it would be nice. Are you opposed to horizontal names?

no no, horizontal names would be fine, too. If you like to draw new images, please do that. I just don't see an issue with the way it is now

Still searching for good user interfaces for this. I found this kudos file manager, which has a nice material design.

We could imagine having the list of folders on the left, with, on top, the home (which would be clickable, to be changed into whatever other home folder we want). Not sure about subfolders, though.

Then on the right, instead of the list in the link, we could keep a file/notebook format, like the evernote previously mentionned, or something more standard.
