Use API to get issue map of aliases to issue keys

It should be possible to use /rest/api/latest/issue/createmeta to look up the data needed for the issues map for a given project. This would prevent the need to manually look up and hard code the values in the~/.track.yaml config file.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. The aliases are purely meant as an easy, personal mnemonic for issues. Even if they were shared in a project, I would not see how to use the resource you mentioned. Then again, I am not so familiar with JIRAs API.
