Add ability to select all nodes/edges in context menu

When the user right clicks on the graph canvas, they should have a few options to select various items in the graph.

• Select all nodes
• Select all edges
• Select all

This would replace whatever is already selected.

Hello @kmcginnes ! I’ve implemented the “Select all nodes / edges / all” options in the canvas context menu using replaceGraphSelection.
I’m currently unable to fully test it locally since I don’t have a Neptune backend running.

Is there a recommended way to run the app locally for testing this feature? For example, is there a mock setup or local backend configuration you suggest?

There are a few ways to add some connections to Graph Explorer for local development testing.

The easiest is to find a public data source in Gremlin or SPARQL. I know of a couple in SPARQL that I personally use for testing:

• https://data.nobelprize.org/store
• https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh

I don't know of any Gremlin public data sources. However, it's not terribly difficult to setup a local Gremlin Server with the air routes sample data. We do it in the provided air routes sample in the repo (uses the production docker image of graph explorer). The simplest answer might be to modify that docker compose file to only include the database and expose the 8182 port. Then you should be able to add the connection to your running local Graph Explorer instance.

We should definitely do better, in this regard. It is far too difficult to get up and running with Graph Explorer.
