Team Adapt is pleased to announce that after many rounds of testing, the v1.0.0 codebase has left the beta phase and reached its first release candidate!* This marks a step-up in terms of reliability, and a big step closer to the v1.0.0 stable release.
For anyone new, you can find out more about the v1.0.0 authoring tool work here:
Next steps
The codebase is currently going through a full-system Penetration test to highlight any outstanding security issues. This commenced on 17/10/22 and we expect to receive feedback some time early next month (November). Once the results are in, there will be a period of review & bug fixing after which we will be pushing a further release candidate. We expect this second release candidate to be the final release prior to the full v1.0.0 release.
Call to arms 💪
We welcome any early adopters to start using the new codebase in anger; this means individual 'standalone' installs, installs on live server environments, and even real-world user testing (however please be aware that this still pre-release software as such and will contain minor bugs).
At this point (and in the interest of stability), we do not recommend migrating existing production environments to the new codebase. For this reason, we are not yet making the automated migration process available to the general public.
*Release candidates are versions of a software product which are nearing a stable release, but are still going through a process of testing.
