[Ubuntu] The additional Haskell (GHC) instance will be removed from images on January 12th, 2026 #13471
Description
Breaking changes
Previously, we cached two versions of GHC: the latest minor/major and the second-to-last minor/major. Now, only the latest version, mentioned in the ReadMe, will be available.
Target date
Image deployment will start on Monday January 12th, 2026 and will take about 3 days.
The motivation for the changes
An additional instance takes up over two gigabytes of disk space while being relatively easy to install at runtime.
Possible impact
Projects that relied on the presence of the previously available secondary GHC version may experience longer startup times due to downloading the required version at runtime.
