Kerific consensus building and reuse of glossaries #4
Description
Request to use Kerific to enable comparisons between the ToIP Main Glossary and the KERI main glossary.
This functionality can be used by Content writers AND Glossary writers/maintainers.
Why is a comparison tool handy?
People might want to duplicate - and integrate the two or even more glossaries.
The goal is ultimately to offer this Kerific functionality to everyone who writes content, new glossaries, and to those who are striving for consensus among glossaries about term definition.
The process would be:
first, search whether a definition already exists, tref and xref those terms and only as a last resort, start def-ref-ing them yourself.
How could the tool work
It is a dictionary tool. The tool finds (fuzzy/exact?) matches on terms. It displays the terms and the definitions, like it already does in kerific. The user can additionally:
- select a specific term definition for his own glossary as a tref
- select a particular term definition for his own content as an xref
- create a new def in his own glossary where an xref is used to a selected term definition
