Working Server

We provide a first working falcon-as 🐦 server version (HTTP/1.1) including GET and POST requests (PythonAS and JavaAS) in multiple Virtual Host Contexts ✌️.

Early Tests / Response Times

The response times for single GET requests (1 client, no debug build, IDLE_SLEEP_MICROSECONDS=500)
👉 < 10 milliseconds on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2520M CPU @ 2.50GHz.

The response times for single POST requests (1 client, no debug build, IDLE_SLEEP_MICROSECONDS=500, JavaAS)
👉 apx. 10 milliseconds on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2520M CPU @ 2.50GHz.

Still Work To Do

• Implement Scaling / Load Tests / Multi-Client Access
• Security / Hardening

Priorities / HTTP/1.2

Due to the complexity of HTTP/1.1 (request ordering) we were not able to focus on our HTTP/1.2 implementation (XML) right now. Due to a much better falcon-as application server design we will replace 🔧 Apache/WSGI soon in our products microesb and x0 framework.

To be x0 compatible, the following issues have to be resolved as quickly as possible ⏰:

Summarize

We are close to the v0.1 release. PRs #129, #130 and #131 also make the requests POST AS and GET (static files) stable. Somehow some function calls used heap instead of stack where they should not.

Still Missing

Multiple tests including the POST AS GET and 304 not modified features.

Performance

Also (HTTP/1.1) performance measurements will be included.

💫 Release v0.1.2 #133 PR 💫 implements 304 Not Modified handling.

🚅 And also boosts request loading times (still serial HTTP/1.1 processing) from Windows11 Firefox to Development Linux VM (Ubuntu 24.04.3) on Intel i9 to avg. of 2 millisconds (non-cached) 🏁.
