Not pulling content from a password-protected wiki

First, thank you for writing this script and sharing it with the world.

I followed the steps on creating a bot username/password for our wiki. I ran your python script and it looks like it does log in successfully, but the export does not contain the actual data, it just has our stock message: "To access the wiki content, please log in..."

Can you please let me know how to debug this problem. Any help is appreciated.

In #29 we have a similar problem.
But we could not solve that either yet.
You can read through that conversation, and see if you find something useful for your case.

It worked for me locally, I tried it on my system.

Which release of MediaWiki are you using?

I believe we are running MediaWiki 1.33.
