Simpathey, you should look into adding a contributing.md to the root of the repo. When creating a PR Github will link to it, and good stuff to have in there are any code of conducts if you have one, coding conventions, how to run the project, how and when you should create a PR (e.g. create and discuss in an issue or something like that before creating a PR), etc. etc.
