Passing A Mounted Directory -> Android

Hey! I got this working in a Proxmox LXC and it's rad. Super nice work on this.

I want to have a folder on the host (or I guess within the container at least because getting it out from there is no problem) shared with the Android emulator this way whatever files I place there are visible to the emulator. A quick google search led me to emulator -avd <AVD_NAME> -selinux permissive -shared-dir /path/to/host/folder but that very well may not be right.

Is there a way to have a mounted folder shared to the emulated Android device?

Thank you! My searches and attempts came up dry - the closest I could likely get would be to make a static SD card image and have it mounted or try to come up with a more complex service to use adb push/pull to transfer files but neither are really good.

A static SD card image doesn't update
ADB push/pull will fall apart on high volumes of small files

I'd love to hear if your search turns up anything better than I was able to find

For now, I identified a possible solution (requires root), but a little bit tricky. It requires (Termux + sshfs): installing sshfs via Termux.
Then mounting an sftp server directly into Android:

  # make shared folder
  mkdir -p /sdcard/shared
  # mount folder
  /system/bin/sshfs user@HOST:/shared  /sdcard/shared -o allow_other,default_permissions,Port=22

This script can be run automatically on each startup by Magisk, if you place it in '/data/adb/service.d'

su
mkdir -p /data/adb/service.d
nano /data/adb/service.d/sshfs_mount.sh
# Make it executable
chmod +x /data/adb/service.d/sshfs_mount.sh

note: your sftp server can be https://hub.docker.com/r/atmoz/sftp/ with a mounted volume (linking a folder on your host)

I'm totally down to give this a try. It's a little involved but it's at least a working solution. Would placing the commands to setup the sshfs instance within the emulated device be worthwhile inside of first-boot.sh?

Yes, it can be done in the script first-boot.sh
You can inject the sshfs script in the location mentioned. Keep me updated if it worked for you.
