Questions about cold start

Thank you so much for uploading your codes here. I am not sure how you dealt with the cold start problem. I mean when I use your models to do the predictions, if the new molecules or new proteins are not in your training set, how can I get the predictions?

You said you split your dataset into training dataset and testing dataset, so your testing data did not appear in the training dataset. For your DNN method, it is oaky for cold start for new molecules, but not good for new proteins. For Macau method, I don't know how you did testing, it is totally cold start for both new molecules and new proteins. Your explanation is highly appreciated.
