[BUG] Official image is not boothing on Raspberry PI 3 B+

I used the Raspberry PI imager to write my ssd card. I used the Anthias (PI3) image but when i boot my Raspberry it doesn't works.

Green light is blinking 7 times repeately.

Tested with multiple version of the image.

Have you tried downloading the latest version of the image (which can be seen here)?

This might be an outdated firmware issue. We've seen that with @Screenly a fair bit with older Raspberry Pis. Take a look at this guide. Note that I don't recall if this impacts the Pi 3, or if it is only for the Pi 4.

For my knowledge is not possible to upgrade the firmware for pi 3. Only 4 or 5 have eeprom.
Anyway is possible that the issue is related to old firmware, but not sure if is it possible to solve it.

@keyboardmouse1, does the connected display show something like the following?

If so, it could be that images are being downloaded, which might take a while.

If not, and the Pi 3 is still blinking fast seven times, it might be due to a microSD card failure unless it's a new one.
If might also because of an undervoltage.

@keyboardmouse1, I was not able to replicate the issue. on my Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+.
You might want to explore alternative ways like installing Anthias on top of Raspberry Pi OS Lite if you're comfortable with the command-line: https://github.com/Screenly/Anthias/blob/master/docs/installation-options.md#installing-on-raspberry-pi-os-lite-or-debian

is simply blinking and nis not showing any image. i tried multiple sd card without success. most probably is related to the old firmware as it is an old hardware.

from what i see the rpi 3 b+ is looking for kernel.img and it doesn't like the kernel7.img.

Have you checked the microSD card if the kernel.img file is present?

Yes.
Kernel.img is not on the /boot/.
There is only kernel7.img

@keyboardmouse1, have you tried installing Anthias via the installer script on a Pi 3B+ running Raspberry Pi OS Lite?
