/login has no method 'post'

Pretty sure this is a pebkac issue, but I've gotten the /user to work and return not authorized, but when I try to do a POST on /login, I receive an error.

http://localhost:1337/login?username=admin&password=testing

Can you perhaps show the API URL you're using for /login+parameters?

two things:

• Did you create the route for POST /login in config/routes.js?
  • you can see it here
• the API Url for login is:
  • POST /login (or /auth/login)
  • username (string)
  • password (string)

I did create the route, I just wasn't using it correctly ;}

you shouldn't have to use ?params. That seems like you're using GET? as long as the route for POST /login is defined it should alias /auth/login (both would work then).

You should be able to POST to /login with a username/password

Just /login wasn't allowing a POST. How should the POST be formed? $.post/$.ajax both rely on constructed urls and I would have to use /auth/login?username= + userName + '&password=' + password right?

Unless there's an issue with the route call, but everything locally mimics the repo

No thats not right. You can post and pass in data with ajax and post methods both... $.post is just an alias jquery setup for $.ajax.. you can lookup the syntax for $.post here

I'd recommend enabling csrf though.. there is a full example of this under the "Enabling CSRF" section of the README.

/login still doesn't work with a post. only using the /auth/login route does it work.

im still not able to reproduce your issue. Could you provide some more code?

what happens if you use a REST client like postman to simulate a post to the URL /login does it work? Curious if for some reason the ajax is fubaring it.

I'm unfamiliar with postman, I do have a repo up for testing though. I'm in the middle of something currently.
