Yes, this is intended. The only way to make an HSV picker that is not 1:1 would be to render it and then stretch it (or have a bunch of useless pixels, like the corners in square mode). This has to do with the math behind generating the HSV view.

However, we will need to support this if/when we allow custom implementations (something like #31).
