I think many users implement code editors in things like rich text editors and wysiwyg template builders, I think having a more advanced example for making UI panels, preview rendering, node selection based on a preview, and the like would go great with your example for storing state.

I love what you are doing, the code mirror website could really use more guides.

Thanks for the suggestion, been pretty busy lately so haven't had time for this. If you have time I'd be open to a PR adding Example 4 and beyond that demos what you are referring to.
