/tmp folder getting prints when sent from orca

So I just installed a new 32gb emmc onto my n4max to try to be able to send larger files from orca to it and went through the whole process on the wiki for opennept4une. I went ahead and tried to send a 500mb file over as a test and it's still giving me the 502 error and when I sshed into it the tmpfs mounted on /tmp is full with a max capacity of 484mb still. Has anyone run into this issue or know how to fix it?

Tempfs file systems live in ram not physical storage media. The size is defined when it is created. Not at my printer but my other systems it is in /etc/fstab where it is defined. So doesn't matter how big the emmc. This is based on your comment not looking I can look at my machine if you want confirmation.

Yes, this is a known issue on Neptune 4 / OpenNept4une, and your new eMMC is not the cause 👍
The problem stems from the fact that /tmp is mounted in tmpfs (RAM), so its size remains limited (≈ 484 MB) even after installing larger storage.
Why this happens:

OrcaSlicer sends the file to the printer.
The file is first written to /tmp.
/tmp is a tmpfs → based on RAM, not on the eMMC

Result:
➜ a file > ~480 MB → error 502
➜ /tmp full → transfer fails
Installing a larger eMMC does not increase the size of /tmp.

Possible solutions (recommended)

Solution 1: Increase the size of tmpfs (quick)
⚠️ Only do this if you have enough RAM

mount | grep /tmp
Then:
sudo mount -o remount,size=1G /tmp

Set /tmp to 1 GB (you can set it to 2 GB if you want).
🔴 Warning: upon restart, the size will revert to the default setting.

Solution 2: Make the change permanent
Edit /etc/fstab:

sudo nano /etc/fstab
Adds or modifies the line:
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs size=1G,mode=1777 0 0
Then:
sudo mount -o remount /tmp

Solution 3 (the best): move /tmp to the eMMC

This is the cleanest solution for large files.

sudo mkdir -p /data/tmp
sudo chmod 1777 /data/tmp

Then:
sudo mount --bind /data/tmp /tmp

To make this permanent, add to /etc/fstab:
/data/tmp /tmp none bind 0 0

➡️ /tmp will then use the eMMC, no longer limited to ~500 MB.

@Marlboro62 I ended up doing almost exactly that and getting it to work about 3 hrs. after this post I appreciate the help I wish I'd asked around on day 1 lol
