my main concern with this is how will it affect running openlwr-server as part of the openlwr client, in the future i want to be able to have the client run its own instance of the client, and dependencies like scipy are huge and could complicate things significantly.

i agree with you on this. however, this is one of the reasons i'm focusing on looking for libraries that can be installed with a pip command. also, could you please elaborate on the effect of the client?

how huge exactly are those dependencies? the client also has assets, and those would probably take up more space than code

? I don't understand. Openlwr currently uses a fixed physics model from the roblox game for rx physics.

we can't just use the system python for this on the client. the client will need to include its own python install with the dependencies. as in we need to bundle a full install of python with the game client, with all needed dependencies preinstalled. that's where the problem is, because with every dependency we add, that's also going to take up more space, and could result in some complications with multi platform support. it's not a huge problem to include, but we need to show that the benefit of using this is worth the cost of including and maintaining it.

scipy and numpy together would add an extra 200MB to the game. i agree with you that it's not really that big of a concern compared to the size of other assets into the game.

that's something which also needs to be worked on, but that's not related to this issue.

i think this is a good idea, but i want to see what the benefits would be, and that including more dependencies would be worth it.
