Unitto is Back?

I'm wondering what the future of NumberHub is now that it seems Unitto is back, with a new release (https://github.com/sadellie/unitto/releases/tag/40).

That release is suspicious to me... there are no new commits to master since almost a year ago, now all of a sudden a release is pushed...

That's initially what I thought to, however you can see commits have been made on the dev branch which are included into the new release.

Also, when upgrading from the last version from months ago to this new one there are no conflicts and it installs fine which means (I think) that it is signed with the same signature.

Signed with the same key, but it was believed the original holder died, so who knows who controls that key right now.

Thanks for bringing this up. I'll wait a bit and see how Unitto develops before making any rush decisions - especially given the current festival times.

I personally don't think that sadellie died. I think the status was more meant to indicate that they wanted to take a break from the internet. They also sent me an email regarding Numberhub on 4th June from their personal account.

If Unitto starts being maintained again, I'd be very happy, as my personal goal was just to provide a lightly maintained fork of it. I'd also be happy if my changes could be integrated to Unitto. However, due to the instability of Unitto it may make sense to continue maintaining this fork.

But for now, let's wait and see if sadellie brings out any official statement and a Happy New Year everybody! 😄 🎆

If Unitto starts being maintained again, I'd be very happy, as my personal goal was just to provide a lightly maintained fork of it. I'd also be happy if my changes could be integrated to Unitto. However, due to the instability of Unitto it may make sense to continue maintaining this fork.

We can also upstream the changes from here in case the repo gets archived again. Also, activity in the repo is restricted to collaborators (aka himself):

Please do, the current state of Unitto makes it nearly impossible to contribute. I would rather learn Kotlin and maintain this fork myself than try to figure out how to deal with Unitto.

I don't know what's wrong with the guy behind Unitto, but he archived the repository again, and got offended that Izzy wanted to add his app to the IzzyOnDroid repository

@kanlukasz thanks for the quick update! As I said, I do maintain this fork, but it's just that I'm currently busy working on other stuff ("sadly" work related stuff, which I think is more important than open source stuff :/).
