Writing large (1.8GB) file returns False

Writing a system image (1.8 GB) returns False, as the bootloader expects such big files to be split (like the normal Fastboot implementation)

Yes this is not implemented yet in the code.

FWIW, I have been able to write a console app[1] that is able to flash super (with proper splitting based on sparse chunks) on the Samsung Galaxy S20 (with lk3rd[2] installed), ideally though the general implementation of this should be moved to the library, that can decide how to flash images based on the presence of the sparse magic, which I will do later on hopefully, I unfortunately do not have the time to do it right now.
