Subshell is crazy...

mc version: 4.8.15
This is happened when there is a long command in history and i navigate in it with up and down arrow keys...
This happened only in the mc bash subshell (Ctrl-o)

In fact, after some research, mc subshell does'nt like the "tput setab num_color" or "tput setaf num_colo" in PS1.
Is there a way to do it accept it ?

So why can't you simply use ANSI escapes instead? Somehow, I'm not surprised that complex stuff in PS1 like tput is causing problems, even though I don't know exactly why. Also, did you try current master? The subshell hook was revised after 4.8.15.

@rcspam Quick question: are you surrounding the tputs with \[ and \] ? (or, \x01 and \x02 depending on context)
