Left right reversed?

I am trying to understand the left or right direction of a pose.

On Page 11 from https://files.is.tue.mpg.de/black/talks/SMPL-made-simple-FAQs.pdf
I thought the right side of the body is when the forward direction aligns with the human body. For instance, in the picture below, 20 and 22 are on the right side.

But on Page 23, 20 and 22 are L_Wrist and L_Hand on the left side shown in the picture below. So I am confused. It would be great to provide further clarification.

Another example is the IMUPoser https://github.com/FIGLAB/IMUPoser

where the left-right sides align with the one on Page 23 but not Page 11.
