extremely high cpu with wayland

I've used this very happily in the past, with excellent performance. However, on my new laptop, any sort of live plotting makes my desktop very slow, kst2 seems to be causing xwayland process to use a mountain of CPU usage.

hi @karlp ... have you figured out since then what was going on?
I am asking because I think I am affected by a similar issue (but while plotting in stata...).
In my case, it is also problematic under X11 server...
