The client <-> mongolab db communication is unsecured. (The only part of the communication is encrypted - user, password verification). http://docs.mongolab.com/security/#network
Proposed solutions:
1, Use mongolab ssl connections (it's paid - dedicated plans only, is it possible to pay using azure profile?)
2, Move mongodb to azure vm and secure
