I've installed Zed and the Julia extension. The language server only recognises what is exported from Julia Base, for example, getting the docstrings for sum works. Other packages, such as Dates from the standard library, produce an error:

The folder I opened is a package folder with a Manifest.toml.

It seems that the correct environment is not picked up by default, as it is in VS Code.

This should work as in VSC. Just to clarify: you open the same package directory in VSC and Zed, hover over e.g., Dates.now(), then VSC shows the docstring and Zed an error message?

Is there anything of interest in the LS logs? (Open Zed's command palette and search for open language server logs.)

We have an open issue #50 for Julia 1.12 but I'm sure you're already aware of that.

In Julia 1.12, VSC shows the docstrings of Dates.now() while hovering, but Zed shows it cannot find Dates. Functions from Base, like include, are found.

I did look at open language server logs and got this helpful information. It seems like the SymbolServer crashes while indexing.

Yup, that error is related to #50. Installing the missing packages should fix it for you.

I've pinned #50 to make it more visible. We still need to find out how to fix it. I doubt we'll see a new upstream LanguageServer.jl release any time soon.

The fix proposed in issue #50 worked for me, but one may need to remove the existing environment (e.g., /home/youruser/.julia/environments/zed-julia) due to compatibility issues.

Same here, missing reference for every module import except local import

CSV and InlineStrings here are missing reference
