SofaUnity simulation adjusmtent questions

I have a few questions regarding SofaUnity:

• Is it only possible to add one material to one visual object? Can't I add different materials even if I export it from Blender using different materials?
• Is there a way to overcome the high face count of a model in the simulation of SOFA?
• Is it possible to add multiple stiffnesses to 1 model?
• I'm having trouble building a tailored simulation using the existing documentation, as it doesn't mention how to use it as much as it explains the framework's flow. So, is there up-to-date documentation?

Thank you for your questions.

1. We are using obj mesh in SOFA. And only one material per object. What you could do is splitting your mesh into multiple visual mesh (part of your full mesh) and apply different material. All visual mesh need to be mapped to the simulated one.
2. what do you mean by high face count?
3. Yes, you can define 1 stiffness value per element of your modelization. Therefor you can split you mesh into section and apply the same stiffness to "area" or "volume"
4. The up to date doc is online. We try to improve it as much as we can with limited budget we have. Which part is missing?

Regarding the face count, it means a high number of faces/triangle. Sometimes the model can reach up to a million faces, so it becomes unresponsive or lags.
Also, another question, is there a drilling mechanism for bones in sofa? Because all I've seen up until now is laser cutting and grasping, if ye,s pls refer me to it
