Dataset Type facet doesn't work, no matches

I created a dataset with a dataset type of "software" at https://demo.dataverse.org/spa/datasets?persistentId=doi:10.70122/FK2/3VBRKU&version=1.0 using the JSON at https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.7.1/api/native-api.html#api-create-dataset-with-type

Now that there's more than one dataset type, the facet is populated. However, when I click either "Dataset" or "Software", the facet doesn't work. It says nothing matches my search.

@pdurbin we are double quoting every facet value with the facet label returned from the search API, but somehow is not working for datasetType facet values like "Dataset" or "Software" but it does works if "dataset" or "software". Not sure why, as is working for the rest of the facets. So know I'm thinking this could be more backend/API related?

Thanks phil, so my question is why for the rest of the facets we can use the capitalized label but not for dataset types?

They'll get back the capitalized
values but will need to pass in the lower case version (in English)
to narrow their search results.

It's a great question. I'm not sure. 😅

The Dataset Type facet works fine in JSF. You can try it at https://demo.dataverse.org . That's why I opened the issue here, but maybe the fix should be in the backend. 🤷

Well I think that if the Search API already works well for the rest of capitalized labels we should keep it that way and address the issue on the backend side.
Otherwise we will need from the search api facets property a new value property besides the label one, but that may involve changes on the backend and the frontend.
