Seems like local http servers without auth aren't really first class citizens

I'm just trying to run a local server on a loopback port until I finished developing it and can add TLS. But connecting to it via the mcp-cli tools has been very tricky. I can't get the exact syntax right and some of the errors emitted are strange:

I am seeing this same problem in the CLI. I tried to configure my local MCP with a config file. It seems to see the host, but errors trying to validate Oauth for the MCP.
