High memory usage

Currently, resident memory sits at 100MiB. This is much higher than my goal. Just a few months ago, it sat at a mere 30MiB!

After profiling with dhat, all non-"insignificant" - as determined by dhat - allocations come from egui. The egui project is not currently in a phase of optimization, but perhaps I should help out there!

Have you tried tile based rendering so you can lazy load the canvas? this helped me a lot on my painter app. This is also one optimisation that they do in krita. Now i don't know if you can do that on yours since its gpu based but still it could be a good idea.

@Vectra777 I do currently intend on using a tile-based approach in the future, less as a memory saving measure but more as a workaround for hardware max image size limitations. Since this limit is usually larger than 4096x4096, it is not super pressing issue, but it's somewhere on the roadmap :3

Currently, the vast majority of the memory usage comes from my choice of UI toolkit (specifically, egui tessellation alone takes 78 megabytes), which there is very little I can do about, especially considering how simple the UI currently is.
