Client.exe issue

Everytime I try and open the FFXIVAPP.Client.exe I keep getting a window asking what program I want to run the file with. I'm not really sure what to do. Any ideas?

I've seen this happen before but it would affect ALL exe files. Does this affect your other programs too?

I've followed the solution here which was to download a registry file for .exe files and use it. I however don't know if that's the cause of your issue.

When you download another program like ACT or something, does it ask you the same thing?

Please keep in the mind this fix was for Windows7 and a different solution might be required for Windows8.

So far this is the only EXE file I have had issues with. I did everything it has asked me. However, I think I pulled a stupid and tried opening it with another program and now it keeps trying to go back to that program. I'm normally not this computer illiterate, ha. I do run windows 7 by the way.

Hmmm, there has to be something in Windows 7 about default programs and open withs. You might have to go through the registry on that one :(
