Some confusion regarding Compound Engineering

What are the fundamental differences between Compound Engineering, SDD (Specification-Driven Development), and the BMAD method?
My understanding is that Compound Engineering also requires producing specifications during the planning phase. If requirements keep changing during the development process, wouldn't the plan still need to be re-generated?
