Describe what this idea intends to solve.
Interacting with the Animator timeline is very awkward, where a web-based program you would expect to use the mouse wheel to scroll to move the div up and down. In the animator this zooms in on the texturemap.
Best Solution.
Take a card from well known software with good solutions, my suggestion is the adobe software.
Adobe Premier for video editing has a timeline and the interactions are as follows:
- Mouse Wheel = scroll up and down like a website would
- Alt + Scroll = zoom
- Ctrl + Scroll = scroll horizontally
Alternative Considerations
Alternatively we can switch the Alt & Ctrl key binds since web usually Ctrl + scroll is used to zoom, not really any solution that is better than another here
Additional Info
Photoshop and Indesign etc also use the scheme proposed, so that is why I also included the texturer and mapper in the issue title as they would benefit from the same treatment.
