CSS: Reduce the height of innerpage headings eg groups

Unless there are really lovely images these big headers just aren't working - can we reduce the height of the headers please? I'm also inclined to shrink the background images too although that is secondary.

I am going to create an alternate inner Drupal Dojo header that is also a reduced height, there needs to be one because it just looks terrible on pages where there is no header at all.
