Configure events

Create and manage the events section for drupal dojo @gusaus Lyndsey suggested you could do this?

Here is how events we set up on the previous Drupal Dojo site (Drupal 6!) - we created a custom content type 'session', but I'm assuming we'd be using the Event type in Open Social? http://lets.getopensocial.com/manual-events

There obviously are better ways of setting this up with Open Social, but hopefully this will serve as a guide.

When comparing config of the old site #10 (comment), most of the fields already ship with OpenSocial (below). It looks like we need the following fields set up

• Video
• Presenters
• Resources
• Sponsors

Per #27 (comment) we'd ideally have the session producers create the event directly from the Dojo group - https://groups.drupal.org/node/add/event?gids[]=2191

It would be great to get a recommendation from Open Social leads on how to pull the g.d.o. events into the Dojo site.

any suggestions as to where the sponsor info should feature? This has it to display at the bottom of the event. That is kind of low impact. And I would envision this as having it fairly high up. And then at the very bottom, we would have possibly a previously sponsors carousel?

Just needs the sponsor information feedback and the video/resources section

This is starting to get real! I'm not sure if we want to replicate the taxonomy types that were associated with this content type in the last site #10 (comment)

I created issues for the smart folks in this group to further evaluate -

• Set up 'Category or track' vocabulary drupaldojo-old#38
• Set up 'Difficulty level' vocabulary drupaldojo-old#39
• Set up 'Drupal version' vocabulary drupaldojo-old#40
• Evaluate/set up 'Session Type' vocabulary drupaldojo-old#41
• Extend taxonomy for presenters  drupaldojo-old#42

We'll work in the sponsor stuff post launch.

So we're going to upload a unique image for each session? Any ideas what to use to make them look...uhhh... clean and consistent?

@gusaus well that is the Open Social default we don't want to mess with it too much an image per session would be nice. Like I have been commenting on before we have a bit of a need for a budding artisan.
